Amanda’s Celebrity Style Interview
The lovely Amanda one of our Sensurround users, took part in a celebrity style interview, to help me kick start my blog, as the new Business Development and Marketing Coordinator here at Redbank House. Amanda joined me along with Nicola and her father last week for her celebrity style interview. To begin I asked Amanda what I thought was a nice easy ice breaker.
What is your favourite super hero or fictional character?
It turns out not everyone is a Marvel and DC geek like myself. After a little encouragement from Nicola, Amanda decided that Batman is her favourite super hero. Nice choice Amanda, I wouldn’t say no to Ben Affleck saving me in a skin tight suit either! I then asked what would be your super power if you were a super hero? Without hesitation Amanda answered – to walk. This is something many of us take for granted, but for Amanda this is only a dream.
Changing direction I asked:
What is your favourite all time film and favourite childhood TV show?
She answered with two things I’ve never personally seen, Goodnight Mister Tom and Rainbow. After hearing about Goodnight Mister Tom, I will definitely be adding it to my Netflix list this weekend.
One question I always struggle to answer is:
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
But Amanda couldn’t answer quick enough, her talker. This was probably a silly question to ask Amanda. Of course it would be her talker, it’s allowed her to communicate, and given her a voice, again something many of us take for granted!
My questions began to take a more imaginative direction, beginning with:
If you were arrested what would it be for?
Amused, Amanda told me it would be for breaching the peace. We all agreed with this. Amanda isn’t quiet or discrete; she likes to be heard and is always up for a laugh. Which also explains her next answer, if you could be any creature or animal what would it be? Amanda choose a dog, fun, playful and faithful.
We went on to bigger dreams.
If you won the lottery what would you spend the money on?
Amanda would buy a big bungalow with a swimming pool and light room. This is not surprising as she loves her weekly swimming and sensory sessions. I also asked what you would do if you became Prime minister or President? She responded: “I would make sure those who need it receive the care and support they need.” I think both of Amanda’s answers are amazing, it’s lovely to see money and power wouldn’t change you Amanda!
Every Friday after sensory Amanda goes to the pub for lunch, she’s never offered to take me though! So this made me ask the following question.
If you could only choose one meal to eat everyday for the rest of your life, what it would be?
Again not having to think for long, Amanda chose ham and chips, followed by chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice-cream. My mouth is watering thinking about it!!
Moving on I asked the question everyone asks:
Who is your celebrity crush?
Amanda couldn’t stop smiling after she mentioned Peter Andre’s name! Admit it everyone fell for Pete in the Mysterious Girl video!
When asked how would your family and friends describe you? Amanda confidently replied with funny, a joker with a good sense of humour. I would strongly agree with this, Amanda always has me chuckling at reception.
I went on to find out that Amanda’s favourite song is Bette Midler’s ‘The Rose’, and if she could be reborn it would definitely be sometime in the future rather than the past. Obviously meeting Peter Andre is at the top of Amanda’s bucket list, along with travelling to Australia to see family.
So that brings me to the end of our interview, it was an absolute pleasure to chat to Amanda; it was a good laugh and a real eye opener for me. To finish off I will leave you with the lyrics to ‘The Rose’. I can see why it means so much to Amanda!
Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower, and you, it’s only seed
It’s the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken, who can not seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose.
